Whoever said that a “dog was man’s best friend” was so right. Everywhere I go I am greeted by the dogs that touch my world. Several have been dogs I was privileged to find homes for while others are just dogs in and around my neighborhood that I see as I go about my life. I have learned to appreciate every one of these beautiful animals for the smile they put on my face. If you don’t think you are touched by the animals in your life, give this a try; close your eyes and think what your life would be without your animals.

This was just the exercise that I did that opened my eyes to how much life animals bring to us, and in my case, especially dogs. I cannot imagine getting up in the morning without the greeting from one of my dogs to whom I belong too. He greets me in the morning because he knows I will take him outside and feed and water him in the morning and any other time he lets me know it’s time. Yes, I do belong to this little guy and I would have it no other way. As much as he is my friend, I am his protector and his sidekick and we need each other; something we both are just fine with.
