I like hip hop. I think it has a groovy sound and some have cool lyrics. What I don’t like is this new crap trying to come around. The fact that this new junk is so popular has really driven me away from mainstream music. Now I listen to underground hip-hop and older stuff. From listening to this good stuff, I think I have learned something.
I have figured out why I really don’t like the new pop hip-hop. It lacks real passion. I have been listening to 2pac and Biggie Smalls and one thing that they had that these new guys lack is passion. Every rhyme was delivered like it could be the last and every one was clever and good to listen to. A few underground rappers have this kind of flair but they are not main-stream like 2pac and Biggie. These guys are more under the radar but they’re still great.
So I think that 2pac and Biggie were the best ever. I also believe that, with the way things are going with mainstream hip-hop, they will always be the best. No one will be able to match their intensity or their slick rhymes. I’ll let you decide.
