Lastly make sure that you are massaging your gums on a regular basis.  You can pick up a gum massager at a drug store for a few bucks, instructions are included and it takes only a few minutes to learn.  Doing this three times a week will reduce the amount of work that you need when you visit the dentist by increasing the blood flow to your gums and therefore helping to keep teeth healthier.

With these easy to follow tips for dental care that you can do at home you will soon see an increase in your dental health and a reduction in the amount of visits you need to pay to your dentist every year.  Of course you should still see your dental professional every three months for some preventative treatments and a checkup but these costs are usually very low and are often covered 85-100% by your insurance.
